Another trusty old war-horse, the Multi server has been around for many years, and is especially beloved by my Indian customers. It consists of a sturdy base bowl, a colander inside, and a lid. It measures 24 x 24 x 15.2 cm
The Multiserver has a white colander and base and a red cover.
It has actually been upgraded to a sturdier new version, which is also microwave safe, called the Warmie Tup. But I know people still love the old version.
Use it for steaming rice, pasta and vegetables, poaching fish, defrosting meat, melting chocolate, poaching eggs, as an ice bucket, for steaming hot flannels, even a portable fridge if you freeze 1cm of water in the bottom, then sit food in the colander.
It is not guaranteed for use in the microwave. This may come as a surprise to those who have used one in the microwave for many years with no problems. I would not be doing my job if I did not tell you that an old-style Multiserver could be damaged by microwaves, and the material is not fully microwave-safe.
